The best thing about Japan was finding an abandoned love hotel, the stories told by various drivers and an unexpected dinner with a family from Nagano.

I’ve never been so unaware of a country I’m traveling to. Sushi and sumo wrestling. But what else is there?

A lot of people were wondering how I managed to pack everything in such a small backpack. I’m more pondering how exceptionally little you could travel with if you didn't photograph?

I’ve now managed to visit 12 countries within the last 12 months, it has truly been quite a ride for the last year! 

I was first greeted by a strictly religious dentist, who suggested me a good spot to hitchhike after giving me an unopened bible followed big a wet kiss on my cheek. Let’s say that I preferred the cold beer that I got offered the day before. 

After a refreshing swim and my third ride for the day I made it to Kavala just before sunset, this felt like a small victory because I didn’t have an accommodation yet.

The departure day from Thessaloniki started really badly, when I got off the citybus a stop too late and ended up in the middle of nowhere on the highway in the boiling weather.

The adventures in Macedonia started with a really lucky coincidence where I met four travellers from my previous hostels! This show how little hostels there actually are on the Balkans, everyone seems to visits the same places!

The journey now continues towards the Macedonian border earlier than planned, but that doesn’t matter since I’m running out of leks anyway!

For some reason everyone has decided to start the same kind of fancy seafood restaurant in an old looking fishing shed... Absolutely nothing original or local here.
